A pastor has taken it up to challenge the wealthy people in the country to start helping the less privileged, the pastor,
David Tarva of Living Faith Church, Keffi , Talk about it during his sermon on Sunday, that it was a sin to throw away remnants while those in need were starving.
Used the analogy of Jesus asking his disciples to feed the people, he pointed out that humans needed physical bread, in addition to the spiritual food, for the journey to eternity.
“People have to be nurtured spiritually and physically from hunger and poverty,” he sad.
He urged the Church to show deeper concern to the poor and hungry, and expressed disgust that rich Nigerians were more interested in exploiting, rather than assisting, the poor.
The preacher said that Christians could only be worthy of that name if they cared for the poor, pointing out that the poor and the rich were all created by the same God.
He said that husbands would be judged based on how they treated their wives, because they were the heads of the families. “If you treat her well, God will open the gates of blessing for you. “Those that beat their wives will suffer severe beatings with fire wood prepared for that purpose in hell,” he said.
